Meet our guides: Adam Fisk

Adam Fisk was raised in Florida fishing all his life and predominantly kayak fishing regularly for 15 years. Adam is trained in adult/child First aid, CPR, AED use and open water rescue with a degree in Criminal Justice. He grew up fishing the flats on the east coast of Florida targeting mostly redfish, trout, snook and tarpon with his father as well as fishing offshore tournaments aboard their Grady White. In 2010 he moved down south to Boca Raton and started fishing from his kayak offshore. Around this time, he started a YouTube channel which drew several million views in a matter of weeks for his somewhat outlandish fishing tactics many of which included the quickly expanding sport of Land Based Shark Fishing. Adam quickly became recognized in this sport and was welcomed on many news stations for interviews to discuss responsible fishing practices and was included in many newspaper publications and was asked to provide information on fish and shark behavior from NOAA, FWC, and Mote Marine Research Laboratory. National Geographic even included him in their Top 5 Animal Rescue videos.

Around the time the Extreme Kayak Fishing Tournaments started up he began placing regularly in many of the events. His team won Kayak Wars which is the largest online kayak fishing tournament in the World that runs almost one year long. He holds an IGFA All-Tackle World Record and a Florida state record fish, EKFT’s largest mahi-mahi and the Kayak Wars Record snook, mahi-mahi, blackfin tuna, Atlantic bonito and more. He also has several dozen sailfish to his name.

Adam has long been an advocate for safety and has even been included in Publications and Advertisements from the United States Coast Guard for proper use of PFDs, not to mention several promotional videos that have been consecutively playing for more than four years in several Bass Pro Shops stores throughout the United States. While living in South Florida, Adam was training for a Law Enforcement career with Florida’s game warden, the FWC. In the mean-time, Adam started a taxidermy business, became a mate for a commercial sword fishing boat and was offered the opportunity to guide for Deep Blue Kayak Fishing which is now Florida’s #1 offshore/inshore Kayak Fishing Guide Service. He stayed with Deep Blue for about 2 years putting clients on countless sailfish, tuna, kingfish and was the first to officially offer kayak fishing trips for peacock bass and clown knife fish in South Florida. Being on with Deep Blue introduced him to Los Buzos where he is now the main guide and Manager of Operations. He recently made headlines by leadering the largest ever documented marlin from a kayak unassisted.
