Adrian Schuld - Switzerland
Adrian, a Swiss fisherman, already joined us at Los Buzos in March 2018, so he knows what monsters are awaiting him here on the Pacific coast of Panama. But let’s go back to the beginning.
He discovered fishing in 2015 at the age of 23… which just proves it’s never too late! After 1,5 year targeting mainly pike and perch, he bought his first fly rod and after spending hours and hours in the winter, standing in the bloody cold „Rhein“ river he caught his first grayling on a dry fly. He’ll never forget this awesome experience! From then on he started fishing in the Swiss Alps targeting trout, namaycush and arctic char in this truly amazing scenery.
In 2017 he went on a world journey. He fished a lot in Australia where he caught his first tuna and snappers. It was like a coincidence when he first came in contact with Los Buzos. As far he can remember it was Damian Bowman (one of our Australian competitors during the championship final) who shared a post about Los Buzos on Facebook.
He then decided to book a 10 day stay and it was the beginning of an awesome journey! Catching big cubera snappers, roosters that are strong as a train and hard fighting tunas! And the moment he saw a marlin jumping out of the water, he knew right away: „I will come back!”. And so he does!
During the championship he wants to catch a marlin and more trophy roosters and cuberas! Adrian is the only angler at Los Buzos to catch a Los Buzos Grand Slam (trophy cubera, trophy roosterfish and tuna) during his time here!
