He inherited his itch to fish at the tender age of 4 and the need to fish has brought him out to many destinations and after many species over the last 30+ years. He has traveled extensively in Europe, Central and South America, the Caribbean Islands, The Bahamas, and at home here in North America chasing many bucket list species.
In 2012 James won the World Musky Fly Fishing Championships, capping off one of his most notable fishing addictions that has seen him bring over 50 musky to his kayak. James has checked many a species off his personal bucket list, including Atlantic and Pacific salmon, large barracuda, tuna, roosters, tarpon from Puerto Rico (140 lb personal best), musky (52” personal best) and has pulled fish out of the depths like halibut and ling on the coast of BC, Canada.
James has appeared on the World Fishing Network and Sportsman Channels in over 10 episodes of various kayak fishing shows as a guest. He is the Director of Marketing for Jackson Kayak, Orion Outdoors and Blue Sky Boatworks as well as the Director of World Kayak, a whitewater growth initiative.
